The 2008 Bevra high point champions, using the BEVRA points system that rewards driver points, not sled number points.

The BEVRA points are awarded in this manner.

1st Place awards 20 points plus 1 point for every sled beaten in that final.
2nd Place awards 15 points plus 1 point for every sled beaten in that final.
3rd Place awards 10 points plus 1 point for every sled beaten in that final.
4th Place awards 5 points plus 1 point for every sled beaten in that final.
5th place awards 1 point on down plus 1 point for every sled beaten in that final.
Last place is awarded 1 point.

Example: In a 10 sled final, 1st place would be 20 pts + 1 pts for each sled beaten, which would be 9 sleds so the point total would be 20+9 = 29 points.

Maxi, I see that you have Jerry as the high points champ in Super Stock B. It was not our intension to steal points from your members. As you remember we were only day members. The last I knew day members could not run for points. Unless this has changed, Steve Nye should be the top dog. Peace

Maxi, If that is the ruling of the Bevra board Jerry will accept the award. We didn't want to make anyone mad. We wanted to be on the up an up. So, Thank you Bevra for a wonderful year. We'll see you at the banquet. Peace

Hi Mark and Anthony,

Mark, to answer your question, I don't know how I accidently deleted my response but I did, I think I meant to edit and explain further and hit the delete button and then never got back to it. My apologies.

We decided to grant season points to each racer this year who supported Bevra, Jerry and you raced in two events which equaled the membership fee anyway, the other one eventers were past Bevra supporters or alligned with current bevra teams. Our way of giving credit where credit is due.

Anthony,
No we will not be awarding seperate awards between fan and free air this season. If we have a season next year, the plan is to have seperate Fan and F/A classes.

Next season is always a gamble, and always has been, insurance costs along with current or rising gas prices, it's hard to run races if only a handfull of guys can afford to get to the races. We also need to elect at least two or more new board members before next season according to the associations bylaws.

hopefully things will even out by next season, or ill be racing one race by the sounds of it. lol

One more question.

How many places exactly are there going to be for trophies, and is there going to be a rookie of the year award presented?

Anthony, I think the banquet is to get together and dicuss/plan next year and swap a few lies. I don't speak for BEVRA but I don't think they are handing out trophies for class standings or rookie of the year awards.
Both of my girls have their dance receitals on the 17th so I won't be able to make it. You guys have fun and stay sober---NOT. See you at the shows.

There will be season high point awards, and hopefully we can continue the special awards as well.

What is most important, is getting together with friends and planning for next season.
